The Imation CD-RW 700 MB 24x discs are an excellent way to back up or store data at home or at work. I know it's not much storage compared to DVD-RW's but these still come in use as I still use them sometimes myself. As sometimes you don't need 4.7GB that a DVD can hold.
Imation CD-RW rewritable discs have an increased recording speed of 24x and noise free play for a wide range of applications. Even though the CD-RW format requires speed compatible disc burners for recording, the discs can be used in standard CD-R/RW drives as well as Multi-read CD-R/CD-ROM, DVD-ROM and rewritable DVD drives. This is very useful as you may have a drive which can handle more speed which shouldn't have a compatibility issue.
Main features and functions:
- Storage media type CD-RW
- 10 discs
- 700 MB storage
- 80min recording time
- Write Speed: 24x (max)
Overall these are very good discs and by a trusted manufacturer Imation. As mention before I still use these discs to save applications and other sources of data when I don't require DVD size storage of 4.7GB. You can get theses CD-RW's for around £5, which is well worth it just having by your PC encase you need them.
Although there are many brands in the market, but Imation still rates highly with any technician.
I have used these CD-RW for some time. The product is good and reliable. I have stored and deleted data in a single CCD-RW numerous times. Yet, the Cd is still doing well. Even with some minor scratches, it still cranks its way into various CD-readers.
I would have prefer a CD-RW which has a password lock, but then, when you are in a hurry, this CD is good enough. The thin cd can be hidden in a small bag!
I bought a pack of these after seeing them on offer. They are not the cheapest but not the most expencive either.
The Companys products are now becoming one of the most widely available optical media storage.
The Disc are CD-RW suitable for anyone who wants to temporay store data on. RW means ReWritable allowing you to erase the contents of the disc and fill again with new.
Firstly I use a lot of CD-RW discs. So I needed a disc I could rely on to store my data safely, to have good read/write ability with multiple burners and players and be light on my pocket.
They are 700 MB standard single layer discs and are 24x in speed. They are pretty decent speed wise for rewitable discs. They come in packs of 10 discs in a individual jewel case & boxed. I personally didn't pay alot for them as they were on offer and i thought i would give them a whirl. Other more manufacturers may provide you without a jewel case and work out considerably cheaper.
My experiences with them are as follows: I use them daily both reading and writing. The data I store on the discs are applications, Photos, Mp3, Video and documents.
I have tested them in Pioneer, LG, Sony and Liteon Burners using Nero Burning Rom as my choice of burning software. I have never experienced some problems with burning. I have written to the discs many times but eventually these do bite the dust. I have tried other brands which outlast these.
I have tried them in various computer drives and have never had any problem with reading any data from the discs.
With regards to stand alone players I have tried the discs on Sony, Panasonic, Toshiba, TEAC and Samsung Players. Again I have had no problem with data being read from the disc. Video and Mp3 playback have been satisfactory.
They do seem to be widely available. I have seen them in most stationary stores and even Morrisons I buy mine from either SCAN computers or the local market.
I wouldn't recommend them. Due to problems i have had personally with them as i think there are far better discs available on the market. i don't use any of these disc now as they have either passed their best or i have a better replacement. They are a great cheap form of temporary storage. The jewel case is a bonus. As with all media I would check your firmware is up to date on your drives to ensure the best compatibility with these discs.
