One DVD offers 4.7GB space which means you can store around 1500 pictures of 3MB size or around 1000 mp3's of 4,5MB. But of course you can also put a movie on the disc. Imation DVD+R 4.7 GB 16x I might use the Philips CD-R 700 MB 52x to put on my music but when I want to put a movie on a disc I'm using the Imation DVD+R 4.7 GB 16x. The reason is very easy because a movie doesn't fit on a CD of 700MB. The Imation DVD+R 4.7 GB is of course also perfect as back up and with 4.7GB i have enough to back up my most important pictures and documents. Every DVD comes in his own small DVD box of plastic which are of a good enough quality. Just be careful that you don't sit on them because then they will break but for normal use they are fine.
