LTO Ultrium tape features metal particles with a Ceramic Armor mere nanometers thick, which greatly enhances anti-oxidation characteristics for longer term storage and durability for extra reinforcement as the tape runs over magneto-resistive heads.

Two types of binders are uniquely cross-linked to bond magnetic particles securely using integrated anchor segments. This contributes to the tape's exceptional durability and stability.

Maxell applies a sub-micron-thick magnetic coating to LTO Ultrium tape, and uses a special calendaring technology to enhance tape surface smoothness for superior signal output and stability characteristics.

LTO Ultrium tape's base film features superior dimensional stability under various environmental conditions. This makes it better for long-term storage, and at maintaining high accuracy of tracing during tracking.
