I purchased a spindle of these for our department at school. We are not heavy users but every now and then it is handy to be able to archive work or send work off for moderation. In this case a CD-R is ideal.

Packaging
-------------

The packaging is good, the labelling makes it clear what the product is and what you can expect from it. The plastic spindle has a good locking system at the bottom so that you can confidently lift the stack up by the outer casing. There is the normal foam pad on top of the CDs along with a transparent disc at the top of the stack. Both features to provide protection for your discs.

The Discs
------------

700 Mb or 80 minutes of audio is the stated capacity and my burner agrees! The actual discs themselves have a matt silver finish with the brand name and detailsin gloss silver. The finish is good for writing on and they provide a few lines in the lower half of the disc for this purpose.

Reliability
--------------

I have never had a failure when burning or reading from these discs and I now buy these at home. The disadvantage is that you get no sleeves or cases, however if you have a CD holder it isn't a major problem.

Price
-------

approx £10 for 50 discs works out at 20 p per disc, I think that is good value!
