I have a box of Memorex CD-RWs that I've been using for several years, so I'm in a good position to give this brand a rating.
None of my Memorex discs have turned into coasters. Discs that I've burnt several years ago are still perfectly readable. And that's good because it's a major pro of rewritable media: being able to use it again and again if things change or you no longer have use for something.
I've not used the High Speed discs in particular. It seems to be a bit of a gimmick, as the only benefit is the ability to burn at 12x. Personally, I would not burn at 12x anyhow because it means the data is more likely to be corrupted. And it does not save that much time.
Overall, Memorex is a quality brand that I always trust. In fact, I've just bought a box of 25 DVD-RWs from Amazon, so I'll let you know how they go!
I got these after I went through a phase of not trusting USB sticks after losing some very important work stuff on one that failed. Since I wanted these for important stuff I thought I better get some that have individual boxes to try and stop the discs getting scratched. I think I would always buy CD-RW's like this anyway as they need to be written to, erased and written to again many times so you don't want them to get too scratched.
I paid £3.63 for the pack of ten discs. So far I have used only about half of them as eventually I did start trusting USB sticks again but remembered to back things up more! The ones that I have used all burnt fine first time and most of those were re-used a couple of times too. They all worked at the full speed they were supposed to and gave me the required capacity. This speed still seems slow though compared to just quickly burning a CD at 48x or a DVD at 16x.
The cases are good quality slim line jewel cases with secure spindle grip for the CD of the type that doesn't break easily- unlike the type used in Audio CD boxes.
Overall these are a good value product for discs with individual boxes. Now superseded somewhat by DVD-RW the difference in price might still make it worth considering these over DVD media. It depends how much you have to backup, but for most work and office applications these will be fine.
Only given 4 stars as there are faster CD-RW available and better solutions out there.
