As a photographer I largely use DVD's for backing up and distributing my photos, but, when I only have a small quantity to post out why waste the space of a DVD when a CD is sufficient.
These disks can fit up to 700MB, and 80min, which is up from the usual 650MB and 74min. They also support up to 52x write speed so if you've got a speedy writer you'll have CD's flying out at a rate of knots.
Mostly I use a laptop because I'm on the move a lot, and I've noticed that some CD's and DVD's have a tendency to be really noisy, with a scuffing noise. I've tracked this down to a little circular ridge around the central non data section of the CD. The noise isn't so much the problem, but it can mess up the record/read of the disk which is a real pain. Thankfully TDK CD-R80 do not have this ridge so are quiet and don't crash out when writing.
These CD's seem to be reliable, I've not had any problems with them so far and I've used 20 or so. They have all worked fine, something which can not be said for some cheaper disks. The cases are the normal slimline type so you can fit 2 in each slot of a CD rack.
