      Disadvantages

Not worth buying and I only use it as it cannot cause harm to my reptiles. Look elsewhere.

Having owned snakes for 9 years now I have tried numerous types of vitamin supplements. The problem with a lot of reptile supplements is that they are aimed at such a broad range. I suppose you could say I am being straight to the point with this review, but I am more annoyed with myself than the product for buying it. At around the £4 mark it is something that you could forgive a new reptile owner for buying as you think you are doing the right thing.

Medivet Reptasol is intended to help maintain your reptiles' immune system and for protection from disease and stress (apparently). When you think about it, the range of reptiles available are such a wide range and I am under no illusions that this supplement is tailored to suit any particular reptile.

There are various other products for sale. For me the main ones to try involve dipping the feed of your reptile in a powder. Obviously, sometimes your reptile may not take a fancy to its feed when you do this, so the spray could be favoured in this instance. The spray comes in a white bottle with 50ml of solution and can be added directly to your reptiles' water bowl. As I always change the water every morning the spray isn't going to last months on end unlike the vitamin powders available as you only use them at feeding time.

I have noticed that Medivet also supply a powder version of this supplement, but this is also for all reptiles and amphibians, so I wouldn't be too keen on that either. Although this supplement is quite cheap to buy I would rather advise you to shop around for a more complete product that is tailored to your particular reptiles' needs. My snakes have never had a problem with the product when I have used it, but I wouldn't rely on it as the only supplement I give them. As it is illegal in the UK to feed live mice to your snakes, it is always a concern as to how much of a natural nutrition level they are recieving through feed than has been frozen. Due to this, I would advise you shop around for a specialist nutrition supplement and not rely on a product that is likely to offer negligable benefit to the reptiles in your life.

not worth wasting your money on

medivet reptasol is a vitamin suppliment in a liquid form which unlike most vitamin supliments you dont add this to there food or to the live food being fed to them you add it directly to there drinking water.

This vitamin supliment helps to keep your reptile healthy and keep there vitamin levels up which in return helps to stop disease in your pet.

It is suitable for all reptiles and amphibians and comes in a 50ml bottle for £4.99.

I have to say that owning a lot of different reptiles and amphibians this seemed like a good idea as one bottle could treat all there vitamin needs but i was wrong. This is a broad spectrum vitamin supliment meaning that it has been formulated with no specific pet in mind and there are big differences in the needs of a small frog and a 5 foot lizard as far as vitamins go. I wouldnt recomend using this even though it sounds good as it cannot speciffically cater just for your pet.

It is basically like the one a day vitamin packs we get that cover from a to z of vitamins, there are things in there that your body doesnt need and things in there it needs to get higher doses of than are supplied.

I realy would recomend buying a more specific supliment for you specific pet
