I wasn't impressed by the seating areas which comprised of horrible tables which have uncomfortable plastic chairs bolted into place, I know it is only a chippy and not a five star restaurant but I still would have expected something a bit nicer. The restaurant area is also small and there is only seating for around 30 people, apparently during the day there ... more

Premium Review Anstruther Fish Bar (Fife): Britain's Best Fish And Chip Shop (1107 words)

Rating:

Anstruther's famous Fish Bar is somewhere I had wanted to visit for a long time but despite the fact it is reasonably close to home never got round to paying it a visit. My sister suggested that we make a detour on our way home from swimming a few nights ago and I jumped at the chance. It has the distinction of being recognised as the UK's best fish and chip shop in 2008/2009 and Les Routiers café of the year in 2005 amongst its awards. Whilst staying in Edinburgh while Dave is working up here we decided to have a day out on Sunday and headed for the East Neuk where we found a real treasure so I thought I would tell you about it. The place concerned is the Anstruther Fish Bar and Restaurant. Where is it? Well obviously from the name of the place it is in Anstruther and it is on Shore Street which is actually the sea front there. The postcode is KY10 3AQ for those of you using the sat nav. To get there from Edinburgh we just drove over the Forth Road Bridge and turned right! We followed the road as near to the coast as we could which brought us onto the East ...  Read the complete review

Money off vouchers usually make it a bargain, great food, lovely quiet branch, good service Chain restaurant rather than independent but the food is good.

the yummiest ice cream Ive had, REALLY extravagant deserts on offer, huge choice! Although most things are reasonable in price (it is a seaside town afterall) some are a bit pricey!

Nice reasonably priced and tasty food, good views at London Bridge None really
