      nice Italian chain

My mam had tesco clubcard vouchers so we decided that these would be used for a meal on an upcoming holiday away to London. We'd never been to Ask before but after looking over the menu we thought it should be fine as it seemed quite similar to pizza express which we often frequent!

We had been looking around Madame Tussaud's in the morning, which is about a minute's walk from Ask, and Ask is also about 2 minutes walk from the Baker Street tube station. We went at around 12, it was on the Tuesday after bank holiday Monday and it seemed quite deserted! It did get a lot busier as we ate our meal though. So we were seated quickly and I had a nice impression of it - it had nice marble tables, the waiter was very polite and he came over and explained the specials (presented on individual blackboards) and recommended a pasta for me which I ended up getting!

We didn't get any starters and just went straight to main courses, I was very impressed with my pasta- it was on the specials board and had a lovely infusion of flavours, it had chilli, tomato, herbs, chicken and penne pasta and I really enjoyed it, it was cooked perfectly to my tastes. My brother had a margarita pizza which just seemed average, the same as pizza express. My dad had a Caesar salad which did look lovely, the dressing was served on the side so you could dress your own salad which I thought was a good touch. My mam had the lasagne, and I think she was a bit disappointed in the portion size of it but she did really enjoy it.

We then came to desserts, and my brother had some chocolate cake which he really liked, and I asked for a milkshake but the machine wasn't working. I was quite disappointed with this, but just ordered a hot chocolate instead which was average.

It was pretty standard fare for an Italian chain, the prices were probably about £6 for a plain pizza, £8 for a pasta dish. It had a really nice ambiance, and I wonder if all the chains are like this.
