Advantages: Great food at a reasonable price

Disadvantages: It's on a very steep hill

Ask is a reasonably priced Italian restaurant. This restaurant is half-way up Park Street in the centre of the city.

Starters range in price from olives at £1.95 to Mushrooms al Forno at £4.95.

Main meals are in four categories: Insalata (salads), Pizza & Calzone, Pasta
& Risotto and Al Forno (other baked dishes). These range in price from £5.95 for a Margherita pizza to £11.45 for Salmon salad (most pizzas and pastas are £8/£9).

Desserts range from £2.95 for ice cream to £5.25 for Profiteroles.

Beers, spirits, and house wines are £3/£4 each but there are also more pricy wine (£25 a bottle) and champagne (£40 a bottle) available.

As far as restaurants go this is my "regular" and is a safe bet and suitable for dining out on a budget. Don't let my use of the words safe and budget put you off from going - the reason this is my regular is because it consistently delivers great food for a reasonable price. There is something for everyone with a choice of over 30 mains. In addition the pizzas can be tailored to your tastes as you can add your own toppings for £0.80-£1.20. The portion sizes are good - you won't be left hungry - and they include ample of the ingredients, chicken pasta dishes aren't all pasta with two pieces of chicken at the bottom.

The atmosphere in this restaurant is very warm and relaxed: suitable for any occasion from just chilling with friends to celebrating a birthday. The tables range from two place to the upstairs which can fit in big parties (it recently fitted 16 of us in). On top of this the waiting staff are always very friendly and accommodating.

My personal recommendaitions are:

Starter - Garlic pizza bread with cheese (for only £3.95 this is big)

Main - Penne al Pollo Gorgonzola / Penne al Pollo della Casa (pasta with chicken and rich sauces can't be beaten)

Dessert - Honeycombe cheescake (something a but different from other restaurants)

Summary: Reasonably priced and has never delivered a disappointing meal
