A health hazard! (Ask Restaurant (Bath))

I went with my boyfriend for a weekend away to Bath recently. For me, going out for a meal is one of the best bits of going away.

Usually, we like to try different, no chain restaurants when we are away and after deciding to try this restaurant on the recommendation of friends, we were extremely disappointed with the service.

After waiting for 10 minutes before being asked what we would like to drink, I ordered a glass of the house wine. Unfortunately, 20 minutes i was still waiting for my drink, even though I had politely asked two waiters whether it was on its way. When my drink arrived it came out as a bottle of beer! (which I drank anyway, I wasn't feeling fussy by this point!) ;-)

During our meal my boyfriend discovered a hair in his food, eek! He pointed it out to the waiter who huffed and after a few minutes of debate, he finally decided my boyfriend could have a replacement meal. However, by this point, I had finished eating.

I then ordered dessert and a tia maria and coffee. My boyfriends dessert was brought out and it wasnt until then when i was told my dessert had sold out! Argh!

Before leaving the establishment I trundled off to the loo, only to find a disgustingly blocked toilet! Bleurgh! I told a member of staff and scarpered!

The restaurant itself was nicely and neutrally decorated and had a nice atmosphere, alhough I did not another couple sat near us who were clearly disgruntled with their meal and did, I think, get a discount.

My friends were surprised that we had such a bad experience at ASK and basically ended up eating our meals at completely different times. Maybe we just went on a one off bad night.

Summary: A health hazard!
