Advantages: Huge selection of delicious food,Great service, lovely presentation, nice decor and central location

Disadvantages: No child size portions (and the portions are big!), only 1 toilet per gender, no customer car park.

After hearing many locals talking about how lovely the new restaurant in town was I thought it was about time for me to try for myself, and Im glad I did!
A big family gathering was due so I thought thats an ideal excuse to go there!

Although this is a turkish restaurant, the menu has much wider influences from across the mediterranean and the choice of dishes was very impressive.
There was a big selection of hot and cold starters- lighter options eg melon and more filling choices like chicken wings. I also thought it was great that some of the main meal dishes came as a starter option too eg mussels! This made it possible to have the best of both worlds when trying to decide what to have!
We went on a sunday so they had the set Roast dinners with various meats, chicken, lamb, beef and they also had lots of traditional dishes too, caseroles, kebab, and lots of choice for vegetarians as well.
The desert menu was just as pleasing featuring classic dishes like chocolate fudge cake and apple pie to more unique options like caramel orange.

Presentation of both food and table was immaculate- good quality napkins and tasteful garnishing on the plate.

The portions are very generous and unfortunately they do not do childrens sizes either.

The staff were very friendly, patient and obliging and the service was very efficient and professional- even a straw was brought out on a little silver tray!

The decor is stylish and spacious, one disadvantage of this venue is there are limited toilet facilities- 1 per gender and the baby changing facility is just a pull down wall changer outside the toilets.

Assos is located in the centre of town, (140 Crayford Road, DA1 4ES). There is no customer parking but there is plenty of local car parks.

We were a large group of 22, including toddlers, teens and pensioners, yet there was still something on the menu to suit everybody. It is not particularly child friendly because of portion/drink sizes, however the staff were all just as welcoming to the younger members of my family as they were to the more senior!

Prices vary, typically a main meal was between £12-£18 starters £4.50 and deserts around £3-£6. I feel this was reasonable as the portions were big and the taste was superb.

The food was of the highest standard, as was the service from all the staff- we were so impressed that we booked to have our christmas dinner there!

Summary: Something unique for Crayford that has something to please everyone! Well worth a visit!
