Visitor: Do you know of a nice Italian Restaurant in the Loch Lomond area?

Jacqui: Is it great food, fun and a warm friendly atmosphere your after?

Visitor: Yes that's right.

Jacqui: Then I know of just the place your looking for.

Visitor: Do tell.

Jacqui: Augusto's Italian Restaurant.

Visitor: How do I get there?

Jacqui: The restaurant is located in the small village of Garelochhead (near Helensburgh), information can be
obtained from the website - http://www.augustos.co.uk . My boyfriend and myself created the website (let me know
what you think). The webspace isn't perfect and may need a refresh to load all the images.

~~THE OWNERS~~

The owners are Augusto and his lovely wife Sandra. Augusto is Italian and very flamboyant (you certainly won't
forget him in a hurry) and Sandra is Scottish (from Glasgow, I think).

~~THE RESTAURANT~~

Located in Garelochead (Main Street), the restaurant has a breathtaking view of the loch, it's especially stunning on
a summers evening as the sun is setting, the rays of light shimmer and sparkle as they reflect against the water (I'm
getting "warm fuzzies" just thinking about it).

As soon as you enter the restaurant you'll feel like you have been transported to Italy. The sound of Pavarotti in the
background, the smell of garlic wafting up your nose and you may even hear Augusto singing "just one cornetto"
from the kitchen. You will then be greeted by Augusto (be warned this will be "Italian style").

The decor in the restaurant is very Italian and very Augusto. The colour scheme is primarily red, green and white.
The ceiling is very ornate with empty wine bottles, plastic fruit etc. Hanging from it (must be seen to be fully
appreciated). Augusto has dedicated a whole wall to his young custom
ers, where he displays pictures of himself
drawn by all the youngsters that visit.

~~THE FOOD~~

The food is absolutely delicious, you can see his menu on the website www.augustos.co.uk. I normally choose:

* minestrone soup - homemade
garlic bread - baked fresh by Augusto

* lasagna al forno (layers of pasta, meat
sauce and creamy cheese sauce)

* Amaretto Gelato (ice cream with almond liqueur)

Make sure your hungry because the portions are huge.

An Experience of a lifetime.

Once you've tried it you will want to return.

If you do try it mention me to them.

It's nice to hear about more remote restaurants - always handy if you are off out for the day!
