I've been going to Back inn Time since i moved to Chelmsford three years ago - it had a great reputation so i thought i would give it a try and it didn't let me down.

The staff are really friendly and even though the first time i went was a busy Thursday night they made sure i got a table as quickly as they could and whilst i waited the barman made me a cocktail from the extensive list. I've been going ever since and now i love their Coors Light which they serve in ice cold glasses - the perfect refreshing beer.

The decor is like an American diner and they have lots of memorabilia all over the restaurant and the table have red gingham style tableclothes and have ketchup in a tomato bottle and French's american style mustard which all adds to the atmosphere.

I'm a really fussy eater but i'm not short of choice here. For a starter i usually go for the stuffed potato skins with cheese and bacon - they're quote substantial so make sure you're hungry. Or i also love the baby ribs as a starter or the chicken fingers - all delicious and come with your choice of sauce.

For a main i used to religiously go for the chicken and ribs combo but recently i have been a bit more adventurous and tried some of their steaks - the big steak is huge and hasn't beaten me yet (although i can't usually manage the chips or anything else on the plate with it!). I also love their burgers!

Dessert wise i'm usually too stuffed but if you want something refreshing after all that go for their selection of sorbets. They usually have blackcurrant, lemon or mango and you can mix the three flavours as you please.
