****Location****
The restaurant was fairly easy to find mainly due to it being on a main road. The parking in the area is generally pay and display until after 7pm (Monday-Friday). I did go on a Wednesday so I had no problem finding parking (directly on the side street) I am assuming the weekend will be slightly busier.

Public transport is readily available Shoreditch High street station directly opposite along with buses 388 and 8.

*****The decor/staff****
On arrival my eyes where met with a feast of scenery; candle lit tables, old Victorian decor and a backdrop of gold and black.
The bar clearly is the centre piece; shaped as a square you could possibly fit 4 individuals on each side, lit with a lime tone (bright but not distracting) and very clean.

The dining area is smaller than I expected which gave me further understanding as to why few time slots where available. Tip: Book in advance to save disappointment!! Although looking at the website gallery I don't think we were seated in the main dining area.

They had a live DJ playing an assortment of music throughout the night; it was at a low volume so you could still enjoy a conversation.
The staff where all smiles and service was fast.

*****The good stuff (FOOD)****
When seated we were given bread and butter (complimentary aka FREEBIES). Two wholemeal slices and two white very soft but I was slightly disappointed as the bread was cold.
As for drinks I always skip to the cocktails I had to applaud the range however £8.50 is not the usual going rate. Along with the cocktails we had tap water also which to my surprise came in a fancy glass bottle which the waiter left of our table.

Starters I had 'Calamari w/ chili & lime Mayo' it tasted like the standard deep fried squid (yummy nonetheless). My company had 'Grilled goat's cheese w/ roasted sweet peppers, crispy potatoes & chimichurri' (naturally I had to pinch a bit...so I can tell you of course). The cheese was very rich which he found a bit overwhelming. The starters on the set menu are limited to three dishes leaving towards vegetarians.
The portions are generous thank goodness there is nothing worse than leaving a restaurant with not only a empty purse but stomach too.


**Mains**
We both had '8 oz. rib-eye w/ sautéed spinach & garlic mash'. When the plate arrived I was slightly put off the mash potato as it mirrored the shape of dog poo- Kinda like layered circles as if it had been pumped through. The appearance was boring it needed more colour nonetheless it tasted good!

*Dessert (yes I had that too :-p)*
An assortment of ice-cream severed in a martini glass. 3 yummy scoops strawberry, chocolate and a nutty one (I think).
The spoon they give me eat it with is quite big but the dessert was delicious.

It was pricey (£29.50 per person for 3 courses) however I knew what to expect so there was no hyperventilating at the table. I booked through toptables which was 50% off the set menu-Going without the deal....I don't want to think about it.
