Sir Paul McCartney asked for the music to be turned down whilst he visited this restaurant. This was according to the article in the Standard, and when I enquired about this to staff in the restaurant they assured me that this was all true, although I've never noticed the music in there! You wouldn't even know this was a restaurant from the outside unless you'd been tipped off. But what a great hidden secret it is! Booking is highly advisable for the evenings towards the end of the week (78 Goldhawk Road W12,020-8746 1337) as this place gets packed! (They do serve lunch as well dinner) Tip: Ask to be seated downstairs for that more romantic night! Seating is hardly on luxury-padded chairs, but you don't come here for the seats, you come here for the excellent food and great atmosphere, where everything is so big in London it nice to go somewhere small! Food - Starters: The soup wasn't the most interesting, so I'd go for the Japanese Rolls – very tasty! Also they serve some delicious warm bread whilst you're waiting for your starters! Main courses: Gorgeous food here, about 6 or 7 dishes to choose from, there is something for everyone, and the menu does change. Nothing is too spicy so no problems on that side. And it's all food you wouldn't cook at home - which makes it that much more rewarding. Any vegetables served here with the dishes are different and not just plain boiled – lot of imagination here! Staff: I'm now on a first name basis with one member of staff, they seem to remember even though I only go every couple of months, they are dressed casually but the service is good! Drinks: This is BYO (Bring Your Own) when it comes to alcohol, there is a corkage charge of £1.25 a person, this means you can bring along a great wine with out paying restaurant prices! Smoking: You can smoke anywhere in this restaurant - although as a non-smoke
r I didn't notice it. Paying: They don't accept credit cards here so bring along some cash instead! (Around £15/£20 per head 2/3 courses) Tube: Shepherd Bush (Central) - 1/2 Mile. Goldhawk Road (Hammersmith & City - 50yards) Just for the record I'm a non-Vegetarian!
