Lovely laid back little place to enjoy a cuppa or bite to eat in!

Both me and my mate love nothing more that a leisurely time drinking tea and coffee that is made for us in nice surroundings and to have a good gossip!

Recently we went on a month long trip (in winter!) in a caravan to Weston-Super-Mare. It was a hard holiday due to us having no heating in the caravan, four dogs malting and running around a fourth berth caravan, pipes freezing and allsorts and add to that my mate kept badgering me and telling me to get dressed we need to go out and investigate when we couldn't shower or anything. Luckily though my mate runs a pub up the road so we managed to bath and eat and stuff there and my mate announced we were going all ladylike and out to the Boston Tea Party, sounded very posh and I wasn't sure what to expect!

The Boston Teaparty however is situated on a main road (parking is available around and about the place). It is basically a homely tea room and when we got there I was surprised to see it basically looked like a shop converted and situated amongst other shops. Large windows and disabled access through a large door people were sat in the window sipping drinks and watching the world go by!

Opening Times Of the Honiton Boston Teaparty:

      Opening Times:
      Mon to Sat - 8 a.m. until 6 p.m.
      Sun - 9 a.m. until 6 p.m

      The Place:

Walk in and you are greeted by dark church chairs and leather sofas with dark wooden tables. It has an old fashioned feel to it and it is a place that is really quiet. There are three rooms to sit in and a tea garden to the back of the place to relax in and have a cigarette if you so decide.

Now the counter is surrounded with tea and coffee. The boards explain prices and what the product is. Also fresh cakes are made on the premises along with sandwiches including Vegan options and of course hot meals are made to order too. Of course this place is called a tea party so I expected only tea to be available. Wrong! There is truly allsorts including hot chocolate and the choice really amazed me!

So Coffees, well expect to pay about £2.50ish and the same for a tea and we were served in mugs and were surprised that it never came in cups and saucers which considering the surroundings wouldn't of looked out of place. We opted for the house blend tea on advice from the lady serving us as we didn't know what to choose and it came in a teapot with like an infuser in it to make sure the leaves didn't go into the water and we were left to choose a seat and to help ourselves to milk and sugar from a small serving area. Our tea was wonderful and so it should be the guy supplying the tea to this place has been blending it for a 100 years (though I'm sure that means the company lol. Of course you don't have to go for house blend you can choose Earl grey, Rooibos, Jasmine, Ceylon, Gunpowder and many other varieties! As for coffee choose from Cappuccino, Lattes and allsorts and all served from a trained Barista who really knows about the coffee and how to grind it etc so you can question them as much as you like lol!

The place has a very laid back, quiet feel to it. Never did we feel that we had to drink up and get out. Staff were really smart looking and knowledgeable and when we left we went up to counter to say it was lovely and the lady that served us looked unsurprised at our comments but pleased and took pride in the place she worked.

Tidying was apparent and the place was really clean. The toilets, though nothing special once again were impeccably clean as was the disabled one (my mate used as she is disabled).

I recommend this place for a relaxing cup of tea and coffee any time of the day though do expect it to get busy as it is a popular little tearoom. Though I never tried food here (no one else was eating either) I would be more than happy to do so. They have a nice selection of hot and cold foods to suit any budget and all in all we really did like this little place and can see why it is so busy!

They do a takeaway service and will do private functions too! We love it and will be sure to revisit soon!
