They will raise an eyebrow if you try and wear jeans and trainers in, though they are not expressly banned as such. The bar area is clean, swish and shiny - modern and efficient, with a heart mix of ales and wines, at a premium. There are leather sofas throughout, though most people prefer to stand by the bar looking dapper, as if they had just come from a day at the races.

They don't get much classier than this. Brasserie Blanc, or Le Petit Blanc as it is better known (that was its former name), forms part of The Queen's Hotel, one of the grandest and most expensive hotels in Cheltenham. Located on the ground floor, to the right of the hotel lobby, the restaurant serves the best in finest French cuisine. It is one of Raymond Blanc's restaurants - a renowned French chef who has business interests throughout the world.
