“ Bridge Street, Andover, Hampshire. „
Walk from the bottom of Andover High Street, along Bridge Street towards Safeways and you'll find the Bridge Coffee Shop on the ground floor of the old Library building. It's easy to walk past and miss it, but that would be a shame, because it's well worth a visit. Friendly staff, a good atmoshere, freshly prepared food and reasonable prices make this a popular place to go. I'll talk about the food and drink in a minute, but it's worth mentioning first that they have a children's play area where your little-ones can run around while you chat to your friends. Teas, coffees, cakes, sandwiches, soup, jacket potatoes, baguettes, toasted sandwiches and special children's meals are all available. A mug of tea costs 60p, a cup of coffee 65p and the best hot chocolate you'll get anywhere for £1.15. They also specialise in milk-shakes with toppings - £1.00 each. There's a small smoking area, views of the river and outdoor seating when weather permits. The coffee shop is mananged by members of a local church: The Valley Church, and in the same building there is a Christian book shop called The Vine. Whether it's just a quick cuppa, a snack and read of the newspaper, or a light meal you're looking for, The Bridge Coffee Shop is the place for you! PS - there is access for the disabled via a special lift, and there are toilets too!
