Advantages: High quality food at affordable prices

Disadvantages: They're impossible to find, at least in my area anyway.

When I was travelling someone once told me that 'fast food is like paying for sex, it's rubbish but it's still so good.' Now although this might not be the most eloquent of anecdotes it does have a certain truth to it. Fast food in general is cheap, mass-produced, and as lethal to the circulatory system as cholesterol coated bullet, but we still love it. However, sometimes they can surprise you.

McDonalds' has always been my staple poison, mainly out of habit more than anything else, whilst Subway and KFC have always remained my top two fav's. Unfortunately for Colonel Sanders he has recently been ousted by the ever-generous king, whose high quality food and superb prices have sent Burger King rocketing up my heart attack wall of fame.

Burger King has the same basic layout of all generic fast food restaurants. You go to a counter and give your order to a suitably miserable looking adolescent, which can be a range of various artery hardening treats, such as burgers, fries, onion rings, soft drinks, ice creams and such like. Although the service in Burger King isn't as fast as some other restaurants the food is well worth the wait, as the staff don't tend to follow the haphazard fry, slap, serve philosophy of McDonalds and the like. Whilst the meals seem as greasy and unappetising as to be expected, they are actually very enjoyable. The burgers are made from top quality meat with a generous helping of salads and seasoning, and unlike good old Ronald McDonald the fries are not so heavily salted as to make your mouth dry up like the Sahara. Although the side portions are not very big they make up for the lack of quantity with quality, and their burgers are nothing short of gargantuan. Plus Burger King is actually filling, meaning you won't feel the need to raid the biscuit jar once you've finished.

The only problem with Burger King is actually trying to find them. Unlike McDonalds, which seem to appear overnight like mushrooms, Burger Kings are generally only found in service stations, airports and train stations, meaning actually getting your hands on their delicious food can be quite a challenge.

Summary: Yet another highly enjoyable way of shortening our lifespans.

I want to try the BK breakfast menu someday. McDonalds breakfasts are too tiny!
