Food In The Fast Lane (Burger King)

Ok Ok so i'm a self confessed junk food junkie, chocoholic and just about every other '-oholic' you can think of but that is in no way going to cloud my judgement on this. Well maybe just a little.

Burger King is one of those fantastic multi-nationals which spring up all over the world and offer people like me a place to indulge a bad case of laziness and eat out on a budget instead of cooking. God bless them! What's more, in the case of Burger King the food is actually good (sideways glance at McDonalds) and usually comes to you hot and in an edible condition (same again). They are very flexible in offering you whatever you want in, on or around your burger - anything you like as long as its a burger of some shape or form - such as more lettuce, less tomato etc.

Their fries are nicely crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside rather than limp and floppy as served by other eating establishments, although they are not salty enough for my own personal liking - but salt can be added. Their onion rings are a delight, crunchy and succulent and their deserts delightful...although we get less choice here in the UK than in the US.

But I have a gripe. And its not just about those Hershey pie things which we will probably never see in the UK, this ones about staffing. Service with a smile it isn't - just what is with these people - at least you get an inane grin at McDonalds. Combine this with the dining around which is cold and uncomfortable and often assaulted by some of the most awful cheesy music imaginable then staying too long is not a pleasant option.

But then who cares?

Its cheap, it tastes great and, as long as you get a take-away and do not have to listen to that dreadful music they play to get you to hurry up and get out, you know that the taste is always the same and you will enjoy your meal.
