A matter of taste

Advantages: They seem to offer more 'proper' burgers
Disadvantages: Cost, still unhealthy
Burger King seems to have escaped much of the terrible publicity that has befallen McDonalds. Yet in truth, the comparison is minimal - they are much of a muchness.
In many respects, whether you prefer Burger King to any other fast food outlet will be a matter of taste. Are they the King of Burgers? Some people think so, while others prefer alternatives, or see little difference. One thing for sure is they are more expensive. Not by a whole lot - but it is noticeable. What you get is a more substantial, filled out feel.
McDonalds french fries are extremely thin, for example, and their burgers have a habit of being a lot flatter. Burger King appears more appetising, and a bit more filling. Whether it's more or less healthy is anyone's guess. Burger King's menu, however, isn't quite as wide ranging. For the casual consumer though, this will make little difference.
Differences in taste are negligible. In many cases, I find myself choosing between Burger King and others entirely due to their proximity to me. Very little else comes into it. It is not the sort of place you want to eat in a few times a week, or even once a week. Ideally, it should be more infrequent than that. It is fast food after all.
Summary: Overall difference with McDonalds is minimal.
