Advantages: Tasty burgers, good selection, prices are acceptable
Disadvantages: Not as satisfying as some, it is fast food
Another of the major American fast food restaurants which has landed on our shores is Burger King. They are similar in style to McDonalds in both price and product choice and are essentially competing for the same customers.
Of course the burgers themselves are branded to differentiate themselves from McDonalds with the likes of the McChicken sandwich's equivalent being the Chicken Royale, flamed grilled burgers against the Big Mac's and even a vegetable burger.
Unfortunately like McDonalds they do not offer a value meal range but the standard prices on show here are about in line with their competitor. However after trying a few of their burgers, it seems apparent to me that they do offer an improvement in taste. One of my favourite burgers from here is the Chicken Royale and the taste is definitely more authentic, seeming much less like an imitation, there is a fullness and a crispness to the taste also.
The restaurants themselves usually get quite busy but there is plenty of seating capacity and the restaurants themselves appear quite tidy if a little uninspiring in the decor. The service is also quite prompt as you would expect from a fast food outlet.
As with all of these fast food joints, attention does need to be paid to the levels of consumption because this is far from a healthy option and even if these were healthy to begin with, the speed at which they are cooked would strip away any goodness in them.
So overall a more satisfying experience than McDonalds but still falling within the realms of the cheap and cheerful no frills end of the market.
Summary: Definitely better than McDonalds
