C&R Restaurant

I have to say C&R is NOT worth a visit!!! First of all, the staff didn't take the order properly, so we had to wait for the rice for a long time. The worst thing is we surffered food poisoning afterwards. The staff were very rude when we called them to complain, and not willing to take the responsibility at all. Customer Beware! Unfortunately, the earlier review is out-of-date (it's now Dec 2006). Since the expansion of the restaurant, service has become appalling and staff are often officious. When things go wrong - as they often do - no one takes responsibility. There doesn't seem to be duty manager. I've been going since it opened in the late 1990s and it's so disappointing to see it change. The original owners/managers seem to have left.

JUST TO LET YOU KNOW.. MOST CHINATOWN RESTAURANTS USE HEAPS OF A SUBSTANCE CALLED MSG WHICH IS PROVEN TO BE DETRIMENTRAL TO HEALTH.. SO BETTER DON'T GO TOO OFTEN OR BETTER NOT AT ALL.. I AM VERY SUSPICIOUS THAT MY HEALTH DETERIORATED BECAUSE OF MY FREQUENT VISITS THERE.. I've been to most of the restaurants in Chinatown but this one is quite unique. Even though the name C&R (Cafe and Restaurant) doesn't sound exciting and it is a little bit tucked away in a small alleyway it is definitely worth a visit. The menu offers many interesting dishes which are a welcome alternative to the other restaurants nearby, which offer more or less the same. ...
