Advantages: central, friendly, no minimum charge

JUST TO LET YOU KNOW.. MOST CHINATOWN RESTAURANTS USE HEAPS OF A SUBSTANCE CALLED MSG WHICH IS PROVEN TO BE DETRIMENTRAL TO HEALTH.. SO BETTER DON'T GO TOO OFTEN OR BETTER NOT AT ALL.. I AM VERY SUSPICIOUS THAT MY HEALTH DETERIORATED BECAUSE OF MY FREQUENT VISITS THERE..

I've been to most of the restaurants in Chinatown but this one is quite unique. Even though the name C&R (Cafe and Restaurant) doesn't sound exciting and it is a little bit tucked away in a small alleyway it is definitely worth a visit.

The menu offers many interesting dishes which are a welcome alternative to the other restaurants nearby, which offer more or less the same.

My favorite dish is Nasi Lemak. Laksa is nice too if you don't mind spicy stuff. The deserts & drinks are very good and original. Try Bo-Bo-Cha-Cha (Coconut & Sago) as a desert, its really yummy yummy.

The decor of restaurants is no-frills but I like the bright friendly colors.

There's no minimum charge, you don't have to wait long, the staff is friendly, and its not too expensive (5-7 pounds for a dish).

Unfortuately smoking is allowed and they do not take Credit Card. Another thing is in some dishes they use MSG, so be careful if you are sensitive to that.
