      Very helpful

      A nice eating venue with friends, family or alone

      Café Bonjour is a small café/coffee shop on the London road in the centre of Headington.
      The café is certainly in a prime location with the London transport links just on its doorstep.
      I first came across the café just after we moved to this area of Oxford and although Headington has a fine selection of cafes and coffee shops, this one was by far my favourite.

      *The café itself*

      On arriving at the café, the first impression is good. The wooden and glass shop front with its personalized awning appears very inviting. Outside there are a few tables for those who like to watch the world go by in cosmopolitan Headington.
      When walking into the café, you are greeted by warm and soft lighting and a bustling atmosphere, with a huge glass counter filled with all kinds of delights from pastries, salads and freshly filled baguettes. A constant sound in this café is the whistle of the coffee machine and the smell of fresh coffee is divine.
      The café offers a take away service or eat/drink in. On first impressions, there appears to be only a handful of tables to dine in, however, on walking along side the counter to the right, there is a small passage way to a back room filled with tables, chairs and sofas.
      The atmosphere is calm and comfortable with complimentary newspapers. The décor is modern yet traditional with pretty hanging lights and to my surprise, the café also has customer toilets. This was a huge plus point as this feature is quite rare in Headington!
      Despite there being quite an good deal of tables and chairs, the space is not too restricted and on many occasions both my friend and myself have managed to get buggies into our seating area when we have met for lunch.
      The menus are readily available on the table and the service when dining in is purely table service which suits me just fine.

      *Menu and food*

      There is a very good range of food available on the menu. The main sections range from a breakfast menu which offers a selection of different breakfast foods from an English breakfast to a continental breakfast. I have eaten breakfast here on many occasions before we moved from the area and I find the food to be very good quality and good value for money. My husband swears by their Eggs Benedict and assures me that it is very good! We have also experienced their breakfast baguettes as a take way service and again, I can report the food to be of a high quality.
      The other items on the menu are such things as jacket potatoes, Panini's, baguettes and ciabattas. There is also a selection of hot food available, however, I have only tried the listed foods. Most of their food plates are served with salad and nachos and I find this to be an ideal accompaniment.
      There are a good range of beverages from speciality teas, different types of coffees, mouth watering hot chocolate, fresh juices, smoothies, milkshakes and a selection of soft drinks. There is certainly something for all tastes and requirements here.
      I have always found the food in Café Bonjour to be delicious whether I visit for breakfast, lunch or a sinful piece of chocolate fudge cake and a coffee.
      * Summary*

      I really like this café, so much so that I still visit even though I have now left the local area. I still have friends around here and despite there being Starbucks in the vicinity, I prefer to choose Café Bonjour every time. The prices are reasonable for Oxford standards and I know that I will not be disappointed with what I receive and I always feel comfortable to take the children with me. Although it is a relatively cosmopolitan café, it is also a child friendly one with fast, efficient and friendly serving staff.
      In summary a great café to visit but be aware that as many other people think so too, there can be a shortage of tables at peak times.
