Cafe Mao is a trendy & clubby restaurant in Brunswick Street in the merchant city of Glasgow. It's a mix of different cuisine: Vietnamnese, Thai, Japanese, Malaysian, Chinese and...Korean: Modern Asian cuisine to sum it up! No wonder it's a big place, two floors is just enough to put up people for such a variety!!! If you like your spicy food, go for the Korean Fire Beef: the beef has been marinated with chillis, garlic, and other spices and it's stir fried with fresh veg and noodles in the korean way...in front of you, as the kitchen is part of the dining hall! I have never seen such a way of cooking in the UK before, but only once in the US in a South Korean restaurant! They have different chicken and shrimp dishes which made the choice difficult and even a veg curry. They have a good selection of chinese beers as for the wines it's so, so, but you would say that it doesn't matter as it doesn't go well with asian type food... Finally you can book online at www.5pm.co.uk Cheap'n easy, perfect for a pre-club diner!
