Advantages: Excellent food, Good wine list, Efficient service

Disadvantages: No non-smoking areas

Out of the two Indian restaurants in Penrith this is by far the best. The popularity proves this. It is best to book at weekends as they can be very busy and there is no real waiting area.

The restaurant is beautifully decorated and although the tables are close together you do not feel cramped or in the way.

It is obviously very popular with parties as whenever we have been there is always a celebration or two but this is never a problem. The service is prompt and there is a good wine list which is reasonably priced.

There are often specials on and recently they have supported Ullswater Community College by donating 50p for each 'special meal' ordered.

Although we don't tend to have starters they start from around £2.50 and main meals are around £7.00, and I think that the main meal is enough for most appetites!

The food is lovely, out of this world, and the masala creamy sauces are certainly the best I have tasted. The owner really values his customers especially if you are a regular visitor and his take away meals are superb and of large proportions.

All in all this is an excellent place to eat out in Penrith, the only downside being if you are a non smoker as there are no non-smoking areas and no air conditioning.

This is definitely a favourite for us on our regular trips to Penrith.
