The 'Cantaloupe' pub is situated in Hackney. You may think that Hackney isn't classed as such a 'good area', but if you haven't been there recently, then you wouldn't know that it is currently undergoing a lot of redevelopment and is set to be a brilliant place. The first rough-edged former warehouse to inject life into Shoreditch's bar/restaurant scene was the Cantaloupe. It still attracts a huge crowd to this day, mainly because there is a raised restaurant area, which serves delicious food for relatively cheap prices. The Cantaloupe is probably the best bar int he area. This area is becoming more and more popular and is now quite a 'trendy' place to go. The cantaloupe is free to get in and has everything from a nice firndly bar, a slightly darker room and a restuarant. The prices are a tad dear but the atmosphere makes up for it. Its quite a close atmosphere and the people are all very friendly. The food is ecxellent and well worth a try although once again it is a bit pricey for what it is. oh-the toilets are beneath the bar throgh an interesting network of passages - well worth drinking enough to check em out.
