Went to resteraunt this week, what a great choice. This place was very busy, but they managed to fit a space for 2, i went for the Rump steak combo, and what a choice. I was full up but managed to sqeeze in some home made ice cream, another good choice was made. You must visit this place, its a pitty they are none in scotland.Happy eating.
I am a big lover of steak and American food, and Harrogate doesn't tend to cater especially for it! So Cattlemans, other than Damn Yankee, is the place to go if you want this cuisine! The decor of the place is fitting to the menu - very themed with its Buffalo Bill style saloon look, although perhaps slightly at the expense of comfort - the wooden chairs aren't the most cosy of choices for the diners. However you certainly feel in American spirit when you look around.
The menu has a good choice - a good variety of different steaks, burgers, nachos, spare ribs, chicken with plenty of sides to choose from. And as for desserts I would defintaely recommend the dime bar pie it is the most gorgeous cheesecake! So in terms of getting a good meal I'm quite sure you wont be disappointed. Also they are open from 12 daily so whenever you feel peckish you can go down there! They have good deals on early birds and lunches (including takeaway meals for lunchbreaks!) so its accessible! Plenty of parking nearby too - a multistorey carpark is practically behind it and it's only a few minutes from the town centre by foot.
I have never had a problem with service or my orders and have always left full and satisfied. One of my favourite places to eat in Harrogate, and not too expensive either (in Harrogate standards..)
This used to be my favourtite restaurant but unfortunately has recently gone down a little. It is part of the same chain of restaurants as Damn Yankee and Alberts. They are a tex mex, famous for their steaks but they also serve dishes such as Fajitas, Burritos, BBQ chicken, burgers, salads, nachos and more.
The food is very tasty and comes in large portions. You usually get a fries, salad, and refried beans on the side.
The atmosphere is great, very lively, a great place to go have a party or for large groups. They also cater for children and have a kids menu with a good variety of dishes. It is slightly cramped and they tend to squeese alot of people all in one room, so not a very romantic setting, but like I said, a great atmosphere.
It is located right in the centre of Harrogate, just on Cheltenham Crescent, about a 5 minute walk from the train and bus station.
You can expect to pay around £15-£25 for a meal, including starters and drinks. Quite reasonably priced and do offer good service.
I have found more recently that the quality of food hasn't been as good. The steaks haven't been cooked correctly, and the service was a bit slow. I have also heard the same comments from other people I know, so this restaurants is no longer top of my list.
Ok for a quick, cheap meal out, but if you want quality or a romantic meal then chose somewhere else!
