Advantages: Tasty, Polite Staff

Disadvantages: Food took a fair while to arrive infront of us.

I recently went to Chiquito at the Red Dragon Centre in Cardiff and overall it was pretty nice. On the table infront was a family who wanted to order an alcoholic drink for their child, which obviously there are regulations about. The manager explained the problems to them in a very appropriate manner, going over the details of the restaurants License and he was very understanding and sympathetic, so initial impressions were very good.

We ordered to a very friendly waitress who seemed to know a lot about the menu and answered a considerable number of our questions very thoroughly. After ordering, we did have to wait a significantly long time for the food to arrive and this was one of the down sides to my experience, it was probably getting on for 40 minutes, before we were finally served.

The food was nice, although admittedly it is quite expensive, I had the Churos for desert which were particularly nice, if a little crunchy. Everyone else seemed delighted with their food as well, so so complaints in that department!

One good thing about eating at Chiquito was that the waitress that served us approached on maybe two occasions to check everything was alright. This showed thorough concern, but was not so often that it became harassment - Good.

The Menu is very mexican and there are some quite unusual dishes, like swordfish. The restaurant had a nice selection of beverages and spirits and menus were easy to read.

Overall a very good experience, though the food could have been delivered a little bit faster.

Summary: Definately a good experience on the whole, I would certainly recommend.
