Comedy StoreNewest Review: ... as funny. This is my experience, anyway. The Store has one show every evening and then then two shows per evening on Fridays and Saturdays; one at 8pm and then one at midnight. The one at midnight is less busy and has a nicer, more relaxed feel about it for some reason. The Store itself (we're talking the London one here) does not have slopey seating but only has two height levels (the floor ... more |

I have been to the Comedy Store in London on several occasions and I can promise that you are guaranteed a good night out with lots of laughs. You pay anything from £13 to £18 for your ticket and you get loads of entertainment for your money. There's the compere (sometimes someone you've heard of but sometimes not) and then you'll get about three or four acts (again, sometimes people you've heard of but usually not). In amongst the acts they often throw in a virgin, but they won't tell you who it is before they come on so you can give impartial appreciation throughout. But, I have to say, it is usually pretty obvious who the newbie is as they're generally not as funny. ... Read the complete review

The comedy store in Manchester is a great place for a night out - myself and my friends have had many nights out here and it can be one of the cheaper nights out too which makes it ideal if you haven't got a lot of spare cash! What is the comedy store? The comedy store is a company that have two stores - one in London and one in Manchester. They are basically a comedy club venue where you can have a drink, something to eat and watch a comedy performance. Location: The location of the Manchester comedy store is in my opinion ideal as it is located in the Deansgate locks. In one of the locks arches, it is just ... Read the complete review

If you're looking for a night of unbridled hilarity then the Comedy Store is the place to be. There are only two stores around at the moment - one in Manchester, the other in London (the one I will be reviewing). ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A boring bit of history about The Comedy Store ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The Comedy Store grew from the seeds sown by a man named Don Ward way back in 1979 above a strip club in Soho where he was trying to recreate the success of the US comedy clubs. In the beginning the store operated by calling in "would-be" comedians and using a "gong" system whereby based upon ... Read the complete review

The Comedy Store London has made many an appearance on our TV screens and provided a launch pad for such stars as Lee Evans, Peter Kay and Paul Merton. Last year saw the opening of The Comedy Store in Manchester, and it's an absolutely cracking night out. I'm going to review the Manchester venue in particular, because that's the one I've visited most often, but the London one runs along exactly the same lines and all I say about Manchester applies. (Except for the prices - London is a bit more expensive) Shows are on at 8 p.m. from Wednesday to Saturday, with extra 11 p.m. shows on Fridays and Saturdays. I've been on a Friday, a ... Hidden just a few metres away from the buzz of London’s busy Leicester Square is the highly acclaimed Comedy Store. Featuring some of the best names in British stand-up comedy, as well as a few performers you might not have heard of, the Comedy Store comes highly recommended. Obviously its location means you’ll have no trouble getting there, and there’s also no shortage of other places to go before or after the night’s performance. In fact, there are actually two restaurants located almost right next door to the Comedy Store on Coventry Street, but if they’re not your sort of thing, there’s a multitude of others just a short ...
