Advantages: funny, great atmosphere

Disadvantages: you might get picked on

I have been to the comedy store several times over the last few years and enjoyed it every time. I have always been to the comedy players show (sundays and wednesdays) which is an improvisation show. It has always had some big names e.g. Paul Merton.
The venue is quite small which creates a brilliant atmosphere, the walls are covered with newspaper clippings about some of the history of the comedy club which are great to look at during the interval. You can buy food (basic but good quality) at very reasonable prices for London and the bar isn't overpriced either.
During the improvisation show there is a lot of audience participation and it's a great feeling to have your idea picked for the comedians to work with. Hecklers are put down with brilliant one liners and anyone sitting near the front is considered fair game for anyone on the stage so if you are the shy type sit well back.
Many of the big stars of comedy started thier careers in the comedy club so if you are looking for the stars of tomorrow look no further.
It is not expensive for a night out in London and well worth every penny.
