Very similar in style and presentation to Starbucks this is also a café which originated in America, carries a more subtle, but equally recognisable logo, and is very widespread throughout the country. Without exception the cafes are well decorated with a modern clean style using dark browns and reds quite extensively, creating a warm welcoming atmosphere. The staff are generally helpful, but if not quite up to the standards set by their biggest rivals. They offer a variety of teas, coffees, cold drinks and snacks, all of which taste very good, but are generally very highly priced for what they are. Overall a Costa is remarkably similar to Starbucks in ... Read the complete review

Cookies in hand (see other review) me and my wife went to Costa Coffee today whilst Christmas shopping at Meadowhall, Sheffield. Costa, for those who don't know are a high street coffee bar that specialise in all things caffeine, from regular fresh coffee through to special flavoured lattes they are probably the closest thing to rival Starbucks as far as coffee outlets go. As well as hot drinks you can pick up sandwiches, premium branded crisps and a selection of cakes and buns all varying in price from reasonable to outrageous and their target clientele are probably those in the twenties who have spare cash to spend on a quick lunch away from the ... A reasonable cup of coffee is served in Costa and its strength contrbuted towards my serious caffeine addiction. My oreferred cuppa at the moment is a mocha, and Costa do a good Mocha, not too heavy the chocolate so that you choke on the syrup, but they do lose points for charging an extra 20p for a bit of whipped cream. They have a modest range of morning snacks including a delicious almond croissants, but very standard rubbery bacon toasties with a pathetic trace of ketchup. They score well for having good locations like Waterstones bookshops, museums and train stations and airports, some have a wifi service but this needs to be ... Read the complete review

My wife and I go to the Costa coffee in bristols Tesco's home usually once a week so we have got to know the staff quite well. We are always greeted by a smile and although the staff are young just school leavers age they seem to have a sense of maturity and demonstrate this by there good customer service and pride they take in there work. The café is always clean but can become crowded and it can be hit or miss if you get the comfortable seats as these are very limited. My wife and I were having a drink with our young baby And I was very tired and managed to throw my drink everywhere apart from in my mouth which was very embarrassing but the young woman who ... Have you ever tried to make a cappuccino? I've a coffee machine at home. An expencive one. I can't get the milk to do what they do at Costa. It's always so frothy. I end up with brown slop. I admire the quality and speed of service i get from my local Costa in Milton Keynes. They're always so friendly too. + unlike starbucks, they seem to really care about what they're doing. I go in every morning before my train and they usually have my drink ready before i've even reached the till. I appreciate that I'm now concidered a "regular". But even so, they still make an effort every time I go in. I've been into other Costas, starbucks & Nero all over the country ... Read the complete review
