Advantages: ideal meeting place

Disadvantages: service not the best

I went here yesterday with a couple of my friends for lunch.

We all decided to go with the Aribiata Chicken panini priced at £3.95. It was quite tomatoey but I always think of aribiata being quite spicey and this was far from it... quite bland in fact. I had a Citrus Fruit frescato which although it was nice and rather tangy I don't think I would have it again as many of the other frescato's are a lot lot nicer.

My friend had a latte and said that it tasted very strong and not as milky as latte's usually do, she also commented that it left quite a harsh, dry after taste in her mouth.

The staff were friendly enough but did seem to dislike clearing the tables, many of which were left with dirty things on for a long time after the previous people left. Also our paninis were not all brought together as the staff member could only carry two she had to go back for the third, surely it would have made more sense for her to have brought them on a tray? Especially considering how busy they were.

Summary: other coffee shops provide a lot better lunch experience.

Costas have gone way down hill since I first used them nearly 25 years ago. And they are everywhere too, a certain recipe for losing control of quality and service standards.
