Costa coffee is great! But the price of coffee in all these new coffee houses is huge - £1.80 for a Capucino!! Having said that, Costa is well worth it - none of the other places are!

My particular favourite is Costa's Mochacino - a shot of expresso, in a tall mug filled up with delicious hot chocolate. It's devine. And there is a choice to have frothed milk or whipped cream and a flake on top - I think the cream and flake is the best, few 100 more calories!

I also really like their hot chocolate - especially with whipped cream and marshmallows...mmmmmmmm!

You'll gather I'm a fan of cream on top - one tip though, always eat a little of the cream from the very top, not the side of the mug, otherwise the cream sinks into your drink and spills it all down the sides (and as much as we all like Costa, no-one can really get awy with slurping coffee out the saucer in a cafe!!).

The coffees are also all great and without the extra caffeine of Starbucks! And there is always a good choice of specialties such as the Iced Mocha.

The cakes are also pretty good although tend to be a bit pricey. I love the choloate fingers with the marshmallowand ginger biscuit chunks (can't remember their name!) and the banana cake with chocolate chips is good but can be a bit dry. The crisps however are ridiculous - my friend once commented that they were 'the most expensive bag of crisps ever'. Not sure quite how true his statement was but they do charge 65p for a normal sized bag (that's more than GNER charge!) - but they are 'Root Chips'. Occasionally there are offers such as a coffee and a bun for £2.50 which are great value. And watch out for the odd store that does a 10% student discount.

Overall, I really like Costa - and always choose it over the other coffe shops.

i like your op! i don't go there simply because of the price! you could almost buy your own coffee making machines and save money in a month!!!

Good op - Costa beats Starbucks and CR hands down - but generally they all rip you off with the food - fill up elsewhere first!
