The best Steak in Wakefield, if not all of West Yorkshire!

The Cow Shed is a lovely little restaurant and grill on Northgate in Wakefield. The building is only very small, but you can't miss it due to its black and white tudor style exterior, and you'll be able to smell the delights coming from the kitchen as you approach it.

Without doubt, the best option on the menu is steak - Cooked to perfection by the chefs in the open kitchen, so you can see them prepare and cook your meal. The meat really is melt in your mouth and is expertly seasoned so the outer is crisp and brown, whilst the centre is pink and juicy - just how it should be. The homemade chips with which your steak comes, are also beautiful, again finished with just the right amount of salt and pepper.

The staff are always very friendly and polite, and the interior of the restaurant matches the exterior, with brick walls and beams and modern rustic furniture.

The restaurant offers and early bird menu during the week between the hours of 5pm and 7pm where you can pick up 2 courses for around £15. It's well worth ringing to book a table for this as it does get busy regularly.

The starters, Desserts and other dishes are all of excellent quality too, so if you don't like steak, don't be put off - but for me, it is the signature dish at the Cow Shed.
