Advantages: Great food, drink & surroundings

Disadvantages: very pricey

My review will be towards the Crazy bear hotel restaurant/bar and farm shop in Stadhampton, Oxfordshire.
Luckily for us, this venue is located within the village that we live. It is a very quirky boutique style hotel with an a la carte or Thai restaurant menu choice.
As a resident, I have not tried the room facilities, however, I have heard from reviews that they are very luxurious and the stay is well worth the money.
My review is more to do with the var & restaurant.

*Bar area*
This is a very classy place to be. the outside is very welcoming in an old fashioned building which is sensitively lit. When you enter into the var area, the detail and design of the bar area is immediately breath taking. The lights are low, there is music to accompany the mood, along with comfortable but stylish furnishings and in the Winter, a big open wood burning fire.

*The dining areas*
Food can either be eaten in the restaurant or in the bar area which is good for the choice of either formal or informal dining. There are a number of eating & drinking areas in the Crazy bear from the bar area, the main restaurant, the glass house to the outside seating area.

*Outside seating*

In the summer, there is a very comfortable and well designed garden patio area. This is complimented by outdoor heating lamps, table candles and comfortable and relaxing surroundings.

*Food and Drink*

The drinks menu is on the pricey size as is expected when you look at the clientelle and the aims of the hotel, however, table service is provided by very well uniformed and polite staff who are ready to notice every fine detail before you do.
The food, what can I say, it is out of this world! Again, the prices are high but well worth the spend if you have a limitless amount of cash or simply for a luxurious treat. My husband and I would strongly recommend the Thai menu which is by far our favourite menu. the food just cannot be beaten!
A nice day to choose to dine here is Sundays, where Sunday roast is served in the glass house and accompanied by live jazz. Well worth a visit for!

*Facilities*
The toilet facilities are clean and comfortable and filled with luxurious essentials such as Molton brown hand wash & cream which is always a selling point for me!

A highly recommended retreat whether it be for a night away or just for an expensive and romantic dinner out.

Summary: Recommended for a special night out
