Advantages: good service & a decent basic pizza
Disadvantages: a bit pricey & no garlic bread
We use the Halifax branch, but I daresay they're of a muchness. And as we only eat the cheese & tomato pizza this is a pretty straightforward review!
We buy the large one (10 slices) for £9.99, & they seem to do a permanent offer of buy one get one half price, so you get a decent feast for £14.99: not the cheapest takeaway pizza but the nicest one I've found round our way.
I like the fact that when you ring they tell you what the time is & how long until your delivery arrives, & they've always been pretty much spot on for us.
I've tried the thin crust style in the past but it's always been quite badly overcooked. The regular base, we've now found, is actually much better as they cook it better yet it's not a great fat deep pan crust & so doesn't overwhelm the topping.
Flavourwise, don't expect to be transported to some fabulous pizzeria in Italy: you get a very basic pizza but it's a nice one all the same. I've has many rotten margerita pizzas over the years from various places, with nasty cheese & too much sauce & sauce that's weirdly sweet. This has a decent balance of crust, sauce & cheese, & the sauce has a faint sweetness but nothing horrendous.
It's all nicely toasty, too, & comes with a little pot of garlic & herb sauce that's probably full of junk but tastes nice & mayonnaisey.
To my eternal astonishment you can't get a regular garlic bread at Domino's - just one that has cheese on. And tomato sauce. Which seems to defeat the object. So I've never bothered trying it, & it limits our choice of takeaways when the child who doesn't eat pizza is at home. But it's ever so nice when he's out!
So in my opinion if you ring Domino's you won't get some miracle pizza, but you will get good service & a dependable meal.
Summary: a consistently tasty pizza
