Advantages: Option to pay by switch over the phone, Prompt Delivery, Resolution of complaint

Disadvantages: Poor quality pizza - stingey on toppings, Lack of cheese, Not very warm

It's that time of year when it's a bit chilly and take away food seems more appealing than cooking your own, and that domino's leaflet that has been sat at the doorstep for the entire week finally gets your attention - so off i toddle to the front room to browse through the menu and it's the offer of "any pizza, any size" for £9.99 that sounds just up my street - great for a garbage guts like me :o)).

I pick up the phone and place my order at 10pm - one large veg-a-roma pizza and one portion of wedges. the entire order comes to a total of £10.99 and i am able to pay over the phone with my switch card - I really do hope that the pizza guys are trustworthy! let's hope so. The person that answers the telephone is polite - no problems there.

A delivery time of 40 minutes is promised and this is adhered to. At exactly 10.40pm the pizza delivery boy turns up with our pizza - great!

All is well up to that point... and then comes the dreaded moment of opening the pizza box. "what the hell is this?" i ask myself. I could have prepared a better pizza myself. I don't know how these people get away with it. I know i didn't ask for extra toppings but this takes the biscuit. the entire 13" pizza had about 5 3" strips of green pepper, a tiny sprinkling of onion and a few mushroom slices. domino's seemed to be a bit more generous with the mushrooms but the pizza was still hardly covered... and as for the cheese - where was it? I couldn't even taste any cheese on the pizza. to make it even worse, the pizza was cold.... the wedges, however, were ok but still not very warm. two dips were provided with the wedges - barbecue and sweet chilli - i didn't think the sweet chilli sauce went very well with the wedges but the barbecue was fine - no problems there.

I had to telephone domino's to complain because the pizza they delivere
d was a joke - they didn't say a great deal apart from apologise and offer a free pizza for next time... but that was enough for me. I didn't really want to be known as a winging old cow but then I didn't want them to get away with it either - but I was pleased that they had the decency of admitting the mistake and attempting to resolve the issue. Good job really because I wouldn't have ordered from them again. I'll wait and see what happens next time I order before I make a final judgment on Domino's Pizza but based on my experience today, I don't think I would recommend them to anyone. Maybe the staff were tired or something? Who knows?

As I'm not left satisfied on this occasion, I guess I'll just have to tuck into the rest of the chocolate cake I have left in the fridge *sigh*

Happy Eating Guys!

I had a very bad initial experience with Domino's (the pizza wasn't properly cooked and I became ill) and I have not gone back since.

Our local one is better than Domino's, although I would rather make my own.
