History

EAT is a sandwich/ lunch store with most stores based in London it was 'born' in 1996 in WC2 (Charing Cross) by Faith & Niall MacArthur. They now have 90 shops; mainly in London by they also can be seen in Major Cities, shopping centres and airports around the UK.

The Stores

Each branch is similar, brown and white décor, simple. Some are smaller and some are large with seating and without. Each branch varies. The queue can sometimes snake out of the door. Don't let this put you off.

The Team

The team attempt to serve you within 3 minutes. Which very often they do. As soon as the queue builds up, they get more staff on the tills. They have a dedicated Barista (coffee maker) who rustles up a great coffee within 3 minutes and always with a smile. They have an excellent selection of coffees with variety of toppings and syrups.
The team are consistently happy, have excellent customer service, and always have a smile for you.


The Food

The fridges are always filled up, even at really busy times (1pm). At breakfast time they have muesli, porridge, fruit and different hot sandwiches (bacon etc). The small is very small, in their breakfast sandwiches but good for a small appetite or waistline!

They have usual sandwiches, wraps and salads in the fridges. They have a soup of the day a regular soup and a bold soup (bold may have pasta in it or be a bit more chewy) the soup of the day can be found on the internet, or on the board behind the counter. They also serve hot pies - these can be found at lunchtime. These are fresh, and when they have run out there are no more. Eat stores tend to close after lunch as there is a lack of trade and they have run out of fresh food, when they run out, they remove it from the over head board.

Paying

Transactions can take place by cash and card. They often have sampling on the counters, this is often removed at lunchtime as they can be very busy.

My Opinion

EAT is a great place to pick up lunch, while their food is fresh and natural, it's not all Gobi berries and pumpkin seeds. You can have an array of coffees with various syrups to accompany your food. They also do muffins and cakes for the sweet tooth. Especially watch out for their lemon cheesecake - you can just taste the cream and calories. YUM! It is always tasty, hot fresh food, and it is really enjoyable with competent staff behind the counter. Their service is regularly reviewed to attain the highest standards.
