Edelweiss Restuarant (Somerset) Restaurant / Cafe National

Newest Review: ... for a birthday lunch. We all had the 3 course set Menu 2 @ £11.50 and 1 £9.50 (for those with small appettites - how useful for children or the less greedy). To start, beautiful rich vegetable soup that you could stand a spoon up in accompanied with granary bread followed by Roast Turkey, Roast Beef, ( with all the trimmings) & home made Steak & Kidney pie all accompanied by savoy cabbage, peas, carrots, new and roast potatoes. Then Treacle pudding that nearly floated off the plate it was so light. The Restaurant is spotless and the service was immpeccable, even a request for more gravy half way through our meal didn't faze t... more

If you hanker after food "just like Mum used to cook" this is the place for you. A good old fashioned menu, all home made on the premises at a very modest price. Very friendly staff and the food is excellent - we settled for the three course set menu for £10.50 - Home made steak and kidney pie and faggots which were fantastic, followed by Apple and Strawberry crumble!!! Don't be put off by the unusual combination of fruit, ..  Read the complete review

This is an absolutely fabulous restaurant that I stumbled on when on my travels to Cheddar Gorge. They are open 7 days a week all day between March and November. During the peak seasons they can stay open up to 8-45! Which is impressive for the Gorge! I really don't know where to start as the restaurant was so fantastic. It is waitress service, and very quick! The restaurant it's self is situated on the side of a beautiful river. There are loads of flowers outside and in, making it look picture perfect! In the summer months there are tables outside and I really enjoyed sitting out there with my cream tea looking up at the Gorge! The inside is ...  Read the complete review
