Newest Review: ... dishes have their own menu section. You have to like garlic if you come to El Meson. It wafts across the roundabout to Cosham police station and masks the diesel smell from the BP garage. If your friends don't like second-hand garlic, forget them, treat yourself to the sea-sweet prawns drenched in garlic butter, and get new friends! El Meson I tried to remember who first recommended this restaurant and when I first went there. Goes back at least 15 years anyway. Authentic Spanish restaurants were then a rarity even in London, let alone in the provinces. After a long gap caused by a divorce followed by chronic lack of cash, I went back there for a meal with my new partner. The owner remembered me, even down to the fact I liked dry sherry as an aperitif and which red wine I liked. The quality of the food had not changed, and the menu only a little.
