We decided to go somewhere different for 'Mothers Day' and decided that Eleo's on the Kingsway in Swansea.

Firstly parking was very easy as there is a car park with Camera coverage right behind the restaurant. Although it's a council owned car park and pay and display I felt safe leaving the car there.

A short walk to the front of the restaurant and up a set of wooden stairs surrounded by a number of pictures and curiosities. At the top of the stairs we were met by the headwaiter that took us straight to a long wooded table at the windows. The table was solid and the chairs reminded me of older solid chairs that you expected Knight's to sit in.

There is no menu as such you go to a cold counter that has a variety of meats and fish that are on the menu. There was a very varied menu and I will list a few of my favorites below: -

Meat

A variety of Beefsteaks from Sirloin to fillet and all very lean,

Pork in a Mexican sauce,

Lamb chops in a mint sauce,

Lamb on a skewer or Pork pieces,

Fish

Monkfish (my fav fish of all time)

Tuna steaks,

Swordfish steaks,

Salmon,

The above is just a small selection there is also a salad bar and a number of starters, from chicken wings to garlic mushrooms, the normal but be aware they are large portions.

I ordered the lamb on a sewer which when it arrived was hung up on a hook from the wooden beam above. Some garlic butter was placed at the top and then you just removed the pieces as and when you were ready to eat them - different!! The meal came with a choice of chips, new potatoes or a jacket potato.

Jackie ordered the Mexican pork, which came on a salsa bed, and she ordered new potatoes to go with it. The meal she felt was very bland no real bite to the sauce which being Mexican you would expect.

On the whole a reasonable meal in nice settings, not over price
d but not cheap either. Be advised its bet to book on the weekend because by 8:30 they were turning people away even though the restaurant holds approx. one hundred people.

Sounds nice, apart from I'm not to sure I fancy 'lamb on a sewer'!

Sounds like a great carvery... heaps of grub but not always as you might like, but okay none the less.

I love Wales and want to visit again... I now know where I am going to get a reasonably priced meal.. Thanks.
