Advantages: Quality, service

Disadvantages: Pricer than normal

The best fish and chips in Clapham come from The Fish Inn, halfway up the street from Clapham North tube. It has won awards from Time Out and the Metro London paper, based on its quality of fish. I would have to agree - downstairs is a takeaway, upstairs a restaurant. You can pick your own fish to be cooked and the fish includes lots of varieties, ie: trout, rainbow, cod - think of it as a gorgeous meal in a box not a takeaway. The chips are good also - firm but soft in the center and very chunky. The restaurant upstairs gave me good service, if you want just fish you can also have good veg etc so its quite healthy. The only downside may be it is a little pricier than a normal takeaway, ie: 3 pound for a bag of chips, however based on the quality of the food and the portion size, overall I am happy to pay this. It is also liscenced upstairs so you can drink; and best of all it shuts at about 11pm - no drunken Clapham people in here (its next to all the bars) whilst you are eating!

Summary: It suprised me a lot - try it out!
