Frankie and Benny's (Guildford)Newest Review: ... but not a new building, the building in fact was previously a Burger King. The refurbishments have been very well done. There is a large free car park (free for three hours, so you can also manage a walk into Morecambe as well as your lunch). It was about 12-30 when we got to the restaurant but it was quite busy; a very polite and pleasant waitress, who also took our drinks order, then ... more |

FRANKIE & BENNY'S NEW YORK ITALIAN RESTAURANT'S AND BARS My wife and I have just returned from a lovely lunch and so I thought that I would share my experiences with you. We had been visiting relatives in Lancashire and called in the Frankie & Bennie's restaurant that is near the promenade in Morecambe. This restaurant has only been open about a year and it is the first time that we have been in any of this chain's restaurants. I will therefore base this review on the Morecambe restaurant. WHAT EXACTLY IS FRANKIE & BENNY'S? Frankie & Benny's is a chain of restaurants by ... Read the complete review

I love Frankie and Benny's, I have to say, and I've never had a bad meal or time there yet. My favourite one is the one at St Anns Square in Manchester. It's only small compared to a lot of the others which tend to be based in retail complexes, cinemas etc, but it does seem to have extra seating/function room upstairs. The atmosphere is great, I'm a real 50s/retro fan so the whole set up for me is great, in booths on red leather comfy seats and the music is great. They play rock n roll, rat pack and swing stuff and you can buy their own Frankie and Benny CDs too to take home. The walls are usually full of old photos too, lots of jolly men with big cigars next to baseball ... Read the complete review

I went to Frankie and Benny's a couple of days ago for a late lunch/early dinner and was quite disappointed. Although I prefer independent restaurants to large chains, some provide good quality service and delicious food. However I felt that Frankie and Benny's seemed to be lost in the system of just providing bog standard food at above average prices with no heart. We arrived at the restaurant at about 4.30 and went for the early lunch menu - although this does cut down the options massively, it still had a couple of dishes on it, and as I had been craving a burger all day I thought I would try this one. It was described as Irish beef, and I have tried a lot ... Read the complete review

You tend to find these restaurants in retail parks, particularly near to cinemas and also often in large shopping centres. The food is Italian - pizza, pasta, burgers, paninis etc and they have a fairly large menu with a lot of choice. There is certainly something for everyone and there are lots of vegetarian options for those of you that don't eat meat. I don't often go to Frankie and Benny's as it tends to always be quite full (due to the proximity to cinema/shops) and you have to wait at the bar for ages. However, on the occasions that I have been, I've always been happy with the food. The pizzas are thin crust and you can get a normal sized one or a huge ... Read the complete review

I recently visited Frankie and Benny's on a Saturday evening with 2 friends of mine, and absolutely hated it! Our first mistake was that we hadn't made a booking (which was our own fault) so we were directed to the bar to wait for a table. We waited around half an hour in total, which wouldn't have been so bad but a group of 4 that came in after us, got seated before us (so I complained!!) Although I don't mind having to wait for a table, the service in the bar was nonexistent. They were too busy doing the drink orders from the restaurant that they totally ignored the people at the bar. And when we did finally order we asked for 3 cocktails, and it cost ...
