We ate at Frankie & Bennys (Leamington Spa) on Sunday 26th April 2009.

For those who don't know, Frankie & Bennys is a chain of Italian/American style restaurants and are dotted round the country.

To be honest, I've never been a big fan of the restaurant. I think they seem to think they are better than they are, charging a lot of money for what you get - microwaved or poorly cooked food.

On this visit, our waitress was friendly, took our drinks order and asked if we wanted olives or garlic bread. Seeing as it was a birthday lunch we said yes to both and she brought them over.

Everything was fine untilo our main came, I had the blue burger which was a burger with the smallest bit of blue cheese ever and cold chips. Lovely. My son had a childs meal with a "free" salad which was about a week old and we told her she could take it straight back. The onion rings were also cold.

I then had a pepsi which tasted like fizzy water, asked for a new glass which was changed about half hour later.

I have found this experience to be quite common for Frankie & Bennys. They do seem to think they are a good restuarant and yet hire young people/untrained cooks and muddle through a job.

We only go because its "cheap & cheerful" but it isnt even that, its pricy and lousy!!
