Advantages: a day out with good music

Disadvantages: everything else

I thought i'd give everyone an insight into frankie and benny's as i once worked for them. I used to work on both bar and as a waiter but help where possible in the kitchens, but obviously not on the same day. whilst working on the bar the staff were fun and always cheerful to customers always willing to chat and make their waiting time a little easier but that's where it ends. When people get taken away to be seated the waiter would expect the customers to carry their drinks to the table to which if available i or my pals on the bar would offer to help. From there the customer was not out of the hands of the bar staff.

As some people have already stated drinks seem to take forever to be delivered please don't blame everyone for that. The bar staff receive a piece of paper printed on the bar. The drinks are made quickly and to which they placed on the bar ready for collection by the waiter or waitress. As the bar staff are dealing with both printed tickets and customers on the bar i'm sorry but they usually have no time spare to help deliver drinks.
If any item is out of stock the bar staff do leave the bar and inform them, it is their job to let you know. As for the drinks themselves they are all supposed to be identical wherever you go, but i'll inform you they are not. As i used to work on the bar i have watched what other bar staff do, and it is awful. On one visit i requested a frankies delight (fruit mix). The drink is supposed to contain orange juice 2/3 of a banana and 2 other syrups blended with crushed ice. In my drink it contained no banana. no orange juice just syrup and ice. as a bit of advice watch when people make your drinks and read the menu with them. If anything play along with the bar staff and ask them how to make it "there are no rules about telling anybody the ingredients" and anyhow they should always be facing the customer as it is good customer service.

The food, well what can i say? The chefs that used to work there were amazing! Food was on time everytime, and the head chef was so organised for time he helped other people to complete jobs he'd set for them to do. However there are 3 branches near by and the others follow the same type of service or more like lack of service. The food is cold, burnt, cooked that much its now chewy rather than soft.

The price of the food is also extremely high for the food you receive. Go and watch the next time your'e in the restaurant, spaghetti is tucked away in a draw cooking slowly. In some cases it may have been there all day from about 11 depending on how busy the restaurant is. I'm also sorry to let you know that some food is merely nuked in the microwave (not good if your trying to escape microwavable meals at home) The list goes on. So next time you order the lasagne check the price in places like asda as you may be able to have 2-3 times as much for 1/2 the price.

If there are people out there who do have a very enjoyable experience, there are loads of you, please do not tip staff for their services using your card unless you physically have no coins on you. It is nice to know that you want to give a tip but by paying by card is not the best way. Every tip given to staff on card gets reduced and reduced further. The company take a certain percentage of the tip for themselves (don't know why) then it gets put on the staff members pay. when they recieve their pay they can see that the company has a dig at their tip and then the tax man takes his share as well leaving a drastically lower tip than what you gave them. If you tip by cash though, a similar incident happens but its far nicer. At the end of the night each member of staff is asked to share their tips with the kitchen staff. They are asked to get a total, then give 10% to the kitchen staff, which is fair enough as they cooked the food you so lovingly enjoyed. Nevertherless their are people who are in the building, either get to share a small sum usually between themselves or have not tip at all. Those members of staff are the ones who were most likely the nicest, helpfulest and the speediest and that is the bar staff. They get nothing form any waiters or waitresses and they usually get the hammering of of the influx of customers. The branch i used to work for is near a football pitch (premier league) and the hour before a match is hell. It is full of either rowdy, drunk or obscenely rude customers or all three. On the bar alone we would take in the most money than the total many other days of the week added together. We put up with that influx, and yet we dont even receive a thankyou.

so just bare that in mind

I have left and im not ever going to look back as i now work in a different restaurant and it is far nicer, it does not usually get rude people entering. The food is all prepared on sight from fresh, and due to the staff there we work as a team rather than looking after number 1 like at frankie and benny's.

Hope this helps you choose where to eat next

Summary: want an insight into frankie and benny's look no further
