Advantages: Reasonably priced food, great for parties, family orientated restaurant
Disadvantages: No free refills on adult drinks
Frankie and Benny's is your typical American/Italian restaurant that caters for people of all ages for reasonable prices.
The most recent review of the establishment is negative so I thought I would balance the scale evenly.
My name's Christian and I'm a 17 year old waiter at Frankie and Benny's in Wales. Obviously I do have leniencies towards the restaurant but there are pros and cons to the restaurant so in this review I shall try and highlight them.
And as much as this review may seem as if I'm trying to sell you something, I'm not. I just want to include as much as possible for newcomers who are contemplating a visit.
The food has been praised by customers on many occasions - one customer describing her lamb shank as 'out of this world'. As a drawback, some people have complained about how expensive their meals have come to in the past - you should expect to pay more when ordering steak, lamb shank or a mixed grill in all honesty. Expect to see pasta, pizza, burgers, salads, house specialties and sandwiches on offer!
Each meal is served with a choice of either fries, jacket potato or herb potatoes (unique to Frankie and Bennys - ask your server for a sample, so many people end up going for chips because they're too frightened to just ask but I usually persuade them to try HPs and change their minds!)
There are wide range of drinks available on draft - Coke, Diet Coke, Fanta and Sprite as well as kids and adults cocktails. Draught lager includes Carling, Stella, Strongbow, Boddingtons and we have a large variety of red, white and rosé wines. We do Orange and Passionfruit cocktail which is equally as refreshing for all you die hard J20 fans out there! The only drawback to the drinks being that they are non-refillable.
The atmosphere is given its vintage style by the authentic music from the 60s era played every night. It gets the 50s+ singing away after a few glasses of wine put it that way! You can even learn Italian phrases in the bathrooms (always useful - might come in handy one day!)
The Lunch menu is available 12-5 Monday-Friday and is essential the main menu for less with free refills on drinks (brilliant or what?). Bearing families in mind, the children's menu is split into two sections for younger and older appetites, with free refillable drinks a main meal and a dessert for £3.99.
There's a New Years promotion going on at the moment; when you go between 5 and 10 PM on a Monday night you will receive 25% off your bill. Just imagine how much you could save on a party of 8 - £50 easy.
One thing that has been mentioned in several reviews is customer service. This obviously differs from restaurant to restaurant so I cannot comment on the restaurant service as a whole.
I hope I have been able to give you some sort of an insight into Frankie and Benny's - I've tried to be as impartial as possible. Try it and make up your OWN mind.
If you want any more information on the restaurant please email me at trigger836@hotmail.com and I'd be glad to answer any relevant questions.
Summary: Much better than TGI Fridays ;)

- 18/02/09 Thanks for your input, without you I couldn't make this review any better. I have improved on the article, trying to add more detail with the positive and negative aspects. |

- 17/02/09 I like the way you have written and your obvious enthusiasm for the place. However a bit more information and more balance about the pros and cons would make this a more useful review. |

- 17/02/09 I admire you for posting this but let's be quite clear about this - your review isn't about the "facts" - its your opinion. There is a big difference there and the fact of the matter is you can't get everyone to love a place just because you do. |
