I have been coming to Frankie and Bennys for the 6 years nearly and have always loved their food until recently.
Myself and my partner went on a double date with my friend and her partner. we planned on having dinner first and then nipping over to the cinema to watch twilight. We gave ourself amples of time to be seated, eat and socialise before paying and leaving however it never worked out that way. We booked our table for 6:30pm knowing that the film showing wasnt until 9pm but when we arrived they told us that we was full and they wasnt able to seat us, i explained that we booked a week prior to this and he has to go into the office to check their booking sheets.
After being made to wait 20 minutes for him to go look he came back and told us that it was thier mistake but they still couldnt seat us for around 20 minutes because they was full, i looked around at the tables and noticed they wasnt full at all, there was several empty tables but they was still full of plates and food that people had left, when i explained this he told us they would be clearing as soon as possible and we would be the first to know. He gave us a buzzer device and asked us to go and sit at the bar and order a drink.
We sat there for 45 minutes before returning to the man and asking when our table would be ready, he told us they was very busy and it would be 20 minutes. It didnt matter how much we told him that we had been waiting a while he carried on repeating that it would be 20 minutes.
We was eventually seated at 7.40pm (an hour and 10 mintues after the time we booked for). We asked them if they would be able to bring the food as soon as possible because we had cinema tickets booked for 9pm hense the early booking for the table.
The starters were very nice, I ordered the cheese and bacon potato skins. They did taste fresh and was piping hot when they was served. The main courses however was revolting. I had a mixed grill, the same as everyone on the table. The steak i asked to be very well done came with blood dripping from it. the chicken was just put into a deep fat fryer to cook, it was dry adn tasteless. The sausages was cold and the salad garnish was brown and floppy. Neither of us ate the main course (priced at £18.99 each) When we asked for our bill we made a complaint about the food and they treated us like dirt. It took at least 20 minutes to try and lodge the complaint and in the end we had to demand the manager to come and deal with us. The best they could do was charge full price for the starters in which we had no problem with that but charge us half price for the main courses. We explained that we didnt even eat a quarter of what was on the plates but they refused to do any more than that.

From that experience we have never been back to franky and bennys, it used to be a very nice place with a lovely atmosphere and great tasting food but now the food is horrendous and the staff are inpolite.
